Australia won the toss and decided to bat against West Indies
The coin fell Alex Carey's way in his first match as Australia captain with the visitors also handing out three debuts in the opening ODIs while West Indies have parachuted legpsinner Hayden Walsh Jr into the one-day side.
Ben McDermott and Josh Philippe both play their first matches in the format and will open the batting while South Australia pace bowler Wes Agar makes his international debut. While the batting is inexperienced, Australia are still able to field Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa in the bowling attack.
West Indies are able to welcome back captain Kieron Pollard after the hamstring problem which kept him out of the T20 series but have lost Shai Hope to an ankle injury.
As hinted at yesterday, Walsh Jr has been included after his success in the T20 series despite not originally being part of the one-day squad - he has now replaced Roston Chase after the allrounder did not recover from a thigh injury picked up in the Test series against South Africa.
