The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced the immediate suspension of all its tournaments in China and Hong Kong on Wednesday over the treatment of tennis player Peng Shuai after she accused a former Communist Party leader of sexual assault, leading to international outcry and concerns for her wellbeing.
