Duo triumph in 18-mile event in the South Pennines as we bring you the best of the month’s fell race results from the UK

SADDLEWORTH ROUND, AUGUST 7

This gruelling 18-mile event in the middle of summer was easily won by Rob James who enjoyed a 20-minute-plus margin of victory.

In fifth overall, Martha Tibbot (pictured in an earlier event by Dave Woodhead in main picture) was a clear women’s winner, also by a 20-minute plus margin and like James’ time it was a course record.

Mick Hill, the European Masters Indoor 3000m champion this year, showed his great range of talent by finishing sixth overall and first M45.
