Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss the start of training camp after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee.
Gilgeous-Alexander is set to be reevaluated in two weeks, according to the Thunder, meaning the 24-year-old will be out for at least the team's first two preseason games, on Oct. 3 and 5, as well.
He averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 56 games last season but missed the final 10 games of the campaign with a right ankle injury.
The Thunder finished 24-58 last season and have already lost No. 2 overall pick Chet Holmgren for 2022-23 because of a Lisfranc injury to his right foot.
