HENDERSON, Nevada -- G League Ignite star Scoot Henderson, the projected No. 2 pick in ESPN's latest NBA mock draft, missed the rest of Thursday's 112-106 loss to the Metropolitans 92 after injuring his right knee while guarding Victor Wembanyama, the projected No. 1 pick.

Henderson underwent X-rays after the game and was diagnosed with a bone bruise. He is listed as day-to-day.

Henderson told ESPN's Andscape that he feels "good and healthy" and hopes to return to action in the Ignite's G League opener against OKC Blue on Nov. 4.

"I feel good and healthy it was just a little bump and wanted to be safe," Henderson said in a text. "Most importantly I really just wanted to be out there for the fans fighting with my team. Thankfully, I am healthy and God has bigger and better things for me. I appreciate the concern and I will see y'all soon, November 4."

In the second matchup of the week between G League Ignite and Metropolitans 92 at the Dollar Loan Center, Henderson -- an explosive 6-foot-2 guard -- switched onto the 7-foot-4 Wembanyama and appeared to hurt the knee as they collided. Henderson limped toward the sideline before leaving the game and walking to the locker room.

He finished with 0 points after playing just 5 minutes.

Henderson scored 28 points in his team's 122-115 victory over Wembanyama's squad on Tuesday, a matchup that was attended by Chris Paul, A'ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, DeMarcus Cousins and Devin Booker.

Wembanyama, after scoring 37 points on 7-for-11 shooting from 3 in Tuesday's game, had 36 points and four blocks in Thursday's win.

Before the game, Henderson said he did not see the two exhibitions this week as a battle for the top spot in next summer's NBA draft.

Andscape's Marc Spears contributed to this story.
