West Indies decided to bowl against Australia

Steven Smith has returned to Australia's team for the second match against West Indies at the Gabba while the visitors have brought in Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy.

The team sheet had Aaron Finch marked to open with Cameron Green slipping down the order. Smith replaces Mitchell Marsh who has flown to Perth early ahead of the England series. Australia will play all their frontline bowlers again with the four them then missing the short trip west.

West Indies have left out Raymon Reifer and Sheldon Cottrell from the first match meaning that Evin Lewis is the only player not yet used. Shamarh Brooks, who has replaced Shimron Hetmyer, has yet to arrive.

Australia will have to defended a total this time after Nicholas Pooran took the chance to bowl first.

Australia 1 David Warner, 2 Aaron Finch (capt), 3 Steve Smith, 4 Glenn Maxwell, 5 Tim David, 6 Cameron Green, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Mitchell Starc, 9 Pat Cummins, 10 Adam Zampa, 11 Josh Hazlewood

West Indies 1 Kyle Mayers, 2 Johnson Charles, 3 Brandon King, 4 Nicholas Pooran (capt & wk), 5 Rovman Powell, 6 Jason Holder, 7 Odean Smith, 8 Akeal Hosein, 9 Yannic Cariah, 10 Alzarri Joseph, 11 Obed McCoy
