Zion questionable for Sunday's game vs. Clippers

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson could be inching closer to a return after missing two games because of a nasty fall he took Sunday.

Williamson (right posterior hip/lower back bruise) did not play against the Dallas Mavericks or Phoenix Suns this week for the Pelicans and again will be listed as questionable for Sunday afternoon's tilt with the LA Clippers.

Williamson told ESPN he feels great, and a final decision will be made tomorrow on whether or not he'll play.

"I'm gonna wake up tomorrow and see how I'm feeling. If I feel great, I'm gonna go," Williamson said after Pelicans' practice. "If I feel like it's too much soreness or it got worse, then I'm not gonna go."

Williamson got 1-on-1 work in with Pelicans player development coach Corey Brewer after practice, much like he did on Thursday in New Orleans before leaving for the Pelicans' three-game road trip.

He said he felt "a lot better" on Saturday than he did two days prior.

Williamson will continue getting treatment on his sore hip and back throughout the day.

Pelicans coach Willie Green also said that Herb Jones is questionable for Sunday's game. Jones has missed the last two contests after hyperextending his right knee.

"They're doing some work with out trainers," Green said. "They'll test it a bit and we'll see where they are at tomorrow."

The Pelicans are also still without Brandon Ingram who has missed the last two games with a concussion. Ingram did not travel with the Pelicans on the road trip.
