Moroccans Saturday broke into celebration after their team beat Portugal, 1-0, in the World Cup quarterfinals and made history as the first Arab and African team to reach the semis.
A burst of red filled a makeshift tent set up for hundreds of fans to watch the game, many wearing red from head to toe, while a few others peppered the crowd in the team’s official white jersey.
Fans sang and waved flags in jubilation when Youssef En-Nesyri scored near the end of the first half.
After the final whistle blew, the crowd jumped up, music blared through speakers and celebrations commenced, continuing out to the streets. (Reuters)
