Moroccans Saturday broke into celebration after their team beat Portugal, 1-0, in the World Cup quarterfinals and made history as the first Arab and African team to reach the semis. A burst of red filled a makeshift tent set up for hundreds of fans to watch the game, many wearing red from head to toe, while a few others peppered the crowd in the team’s official white jersey. Fans sang and waved flags in jubilation when Youssef En-Nesyri scored near the end of the first half. After the final whistle blew, the crowd jumped up, music blared through speakers and celebrations commenced, continuing out to the streets.
