North Carolina vs. Duke: In Jon Scheyer's first game as the Blue Devils' head coach against the Tar Heels, Duke won in Cameron Indoor, 63-57. Neither team shot over 40.0% from the floor in the game, but Duke outscored UNC 20-2 in fastbreak points. Jeremy Roach carried the offensive load for the Blue Devils. He had 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Dereck Lively II was a monster on defense, blocking eight shots and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds. Lively also had four points on 2-3 shooting. For North Carolina, Armando Bacot had another double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Leaky Black added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
