There was a world 3000m record for Ethiopian steeplechaser Lamecha Girma with a stunning 7:23.81 while Mohamed Katir chased him home in a European record 7:24.68.
Keely Hodgkinson improved her world lead at 800m to 1:57.71 but though she finished strongly; it was probably too fast in the first 400m.

Anna Hall set a national record in the heptathlon and only missed the world record by nine points as she went second on the world all-time rankings.
Incredibly, that wasn’t the end of her championships as she easily won the 400m in a fast 51.03.

There was a men’s win for Gadisha Shuma (2:04:59) as 24 men broke 2:10 with Tom Anderson first Brit in 40th with 2:12:07 (a 7min PB) while former English National winner Calum Johnson ran a PB of 2:13:30.
Jackline Chelal won the women’s race in 2:20:29 as 18 women broke 2:30 including Commonwealth Games marathoner Clara Evans for the first time with 2:29:27.
There were a number of national records in both men’s and women’s races.
