The Hopes squad in Singapore includes some of the most promising young talents in the world of table tennis, including Kulapassr Vijitviriyagul from Thailand and Danilo Faso from Italy, the winners of the 2022 ITTF World Hopes Week & Challenge, as they continue on their Hopes pathway. This is the first follow-up activity, and upon the completion of all follow-up activities, the ITTF High Performance will select 4 girls and 4 boys for the Hopes Team, offering them additional opportunities to progress along the Hopes pathway.
They are joined by 13 experienced coaches, including ITTF High Performance Elite Coach Massimo Costantini and Head Coaches Eva Jeler (AUS) and Liu Yanjun (AUT). The coaches will provide guidance and support to the young players, helping them to develop their skills and reach their full potential.
“Our aim is to provide a challenging yet supportive environment for these young athletes to help them grow and reach their full potential. At the core of our program is the priority to provide players with access to coaching, training facilities, and opportunities to compete against other rising players from around the world. By offering this comprehensive experience, we hope to equip our young players with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed both on and off the court.”– ITTF High Performance Elite Coach Massimo Costantini.
This Hopes Squad follow-up activity offers a comprehensive experience for the players, focusing not only on their athletic skills but also on their personal and educational development. By working with other rising players from around the world, they have the opportunity to enhance their performance, learn from each other, and become part of a global community of table tennis champions.
The training camp will last for seven days, giving the players plenty of time to hone their skills and learn from the coaches. One of the most exciting aspects of the camp is that the players will get the chance to train at the state-of-the-art facilities of OCBC Arena, where they will experience what it is like to train like their idols and witness them in action at the Singapore Smash 2023. The Hopes squad will even have the chance to walk out onto the court as mascots for the players during the event, making it a week that promises to be both unforgettable and inspiring for these young players.
