LOS ANGELES -- Draymond Green is facing a one-game suspension after picking up his 16th technical foul of the season.
The tech came with 40 seconds left in the first half of the Golden State Warriors' 134-126 loss to the LA Clippers, when Green appeared to have thrown the ball at Russell Westbrook after Ivica Zubac scored.
"I've never said one word to Draymond, and he's never gone over the limit," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said last week. "He always comes right up to the edge and then he stops. He knows how valuable he is, I don't have to say anything to him. He knows that he can't get that next one; we need him."
The NBA has 24 hours to decide if it wants to rescind the technical, bringing Green's total back to 15.
On the ensuing play, Green and Marcus Morris Sr. got tangled up inside the paint and Morris swung his left forearm and hand back toward Green's head as he was boxing out, sending the Warriors forward to the floor. Green immediately got up and the two were separated. But Green kept jawing and clapping at Morris. After officials reviewed the play, Morris was assessed a flagrant foul 2 and was ejected with 31 seconds remaining in the half.
