The FIFA Women’s World Cup gets underway next week in New Zealand and Australia. This year's competition marks the first time two countries have teamed up to host soccer's main international event. The 2023 tournament will feature 32 teams — up from 24 in 2019. Teams from Haiti, Morocco, Panama, the Philippines, Portugal, Ireland, Vietnam and Zambia will be competing in the cup for the first time. Watching the games may prove challenging for some fans because the host cities of Melbourne and Auckland are 14 and 16 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time, respectively. The U.S. women’s national team, led by Megan Rapinoe, Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan, enters the tournament having won the past two World Cups in 2015 and 2019.
