Portugal and the Netherlands kicked off their 2023 FIFA World Cup Campaign looking to pick up three points! The Netherlands were on the front foot early and were able to grab the early lead thanks to Stefanie van der Gragt's towering header in the 13th minute. The Netherlands continued to get more chances, but weren't able to extend their lead going into halftime. Lineth Beerensteyn caused issues to Portugal's backline in the second half, but Inês Pereira came up HUGE to keep Portugal trailing by only one goal. Despite Inês Pereira's heroics, the Netherlands would go on to pick up a 1-0 victory and pick up three points in Group E.
