Kapler gets game ban for returning after ejection
Written by I Dig SportsSan Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler has been suspended for one game and fined for returning to the dugout after he had already been ejected during Tuesday's game, it was announced.
Kapler was ejected by home plate umpire Chad Whitson for arguing a questionable strike call in the fourth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. It was Kapler's second ejection this season and seventh of his career.
He will serve his suspension during Friday's game at the Atlanta Braves.
San Francisco (64-57) is 10 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West and has lost eight of 11 but remains 1 1/2 game up in the race for a wild card berth.
The Giants have won just 10 of 26 games since July 18, when they were 1 1/2 games out of first place.
