Ireland ran in 10 tries as they outclassed Colombia to secure a 64-3 victory and top the WXV3 standings.

The Irish opened the tournament by hammering Kazakhstan 109-0 and this was another one-sided affair in Dubai.

Tries from from Neve Jones, Nastaja Beehan, Grace Moore, Meabh Deely, Brittany Hogan and Edel McMahon helped Ireland to a 38-0 lead at the break.

Beibhinn Parsons went over for a second-half double while Jones and Leah Tarpey also touched down for the Irish.

New Ireland boss Scott Bemand was forced into two late changes after Nicole Fowley and replacement Megan Collis were ruled out.

Dannah O'Brien replaced Fowley in the starting XV and she kicked five conversions while Clara Barrett and Sadhbh McGrath were handed spots on the bench.

Ireland are 15 placed above Columbia in the world rankings and the gulf in quality was quickly evident as Jones went over for the first of her two tries after just three minutes.

An impressive passing move from right to left finished with the hooker darting in from close range and O'Brien added the extras.

The second try arrived seven minutes later from a scrum as Behan was found out wide and she touched down in the corner.

O'Brien missed the conversion and failed to split the posts again after Moore barged over from a line-out maul.

It was all so easy as Deely ran in to secure the bonis point and then Hogan added try number five when she spotted a gap and muscled over the line.

Ireland were dominant in the scrum and quick passing from the set-piece allowed McMahon to go over under the posts.

O'Brien converted the final three tries of the first half and Ireland went in at the break having already put the the result beyond doubt.

It was more of the same on the restart with Parsons cantering into the corner to complete another fine passing move.

O'Brien was off-target with the conversion attempt but she soon made amends when Jones dotted down from a rolling maul.

Despite their control Ireland were at times scrappy with misplaced passes and infringements - Columbia capitalised with their only period of pressure in the game.

Natalia Barajas was held up on the line from a line-out maul but they were awarded a penalty and Maria Arzuaga put the South Americans on the scoreboard.

A turnover from a scrum led to Parsons' second try as the wing sprinted through for the ninth try.

Another turnover, this time from a line-out, allowed Ireland to pass out wide and Deely set up Tarpey to race in and complete the try-scoring.

Deely added the extras from the final two tries as Ireland, who came into the tournament without a win in the 12 months, provided another confidence-boosting display.

Ireland: Meabh Deely, Beibhinn Parsons, Eve Higgins, Aoife Dalton, Natasja Behan, Dannah O'Brien, Aoibheann Reilly; Linda Djougang, Neve Jones, Christy Haney, Eimear Corri, Sam Monaghan, Grace Moore, Edel McMahon, Brittany Hogan.

Replacements: Sarah Delaney, Niamh O'Dowd, Fiona Tuite, Dorothy Wall, Molly Scuffil-McCabe, Leah Tarpey, Clara Barrett, Sadhbh McGrath.
