Blackhawks put Hall on IR for shoulder injury
Written by I Dig SportsThe Chicago Blackhawks put winger Taylor Hall on injured reserve Tuesday after he aggravated a shoulder injury.
Hall was originally hurt on a hit by Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo on Oct. 11. He took another hit in the second period against Vegas Saturday and left the game but returned. He called it a night with about seven minutes left in the game.
On Monday, coach Luke Richardson said: "He's going to take the next few games and then we'll go week to week to see how he's doing."
The IR move is retroactive to Oct. 21.
Hall was acquired along with forward Nick Foligno from the Bruins on June 26, with both counted on to provide veteran leadership on a young team. Hall in particular is counted on to mentor Connor Bedard, the No. 1 pick in this past draft, since he is a former No. 1 pick himself. They have been paired on Chicago's top line.
Tyler Johnson and Foligno were on Bedard's line at practice Monday.
Hall has two assists in his five games.
