Pistons' Bogdanovic (calf) out at least 4 weeks
Written by I Dig SportsDetroit Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic has a strained right calf and will start the season on the sideline.
The team announced Tuesday that Bogdanovic will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
He is only one of three Pistons who will miss Wednesday's season opener at the Miami Heat -- and beyond.
Guard Monte Morris, who had been hampered by a sore lower back, strained his right quad recently during a rehabilitation session. Doctors will re-evaluate his condition in three weeks.
Isaiah Livers, sidelined by a Grade 3 left ankle sprain, is "making progress" toward resuming basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the Pistons said.
Bogdanovic, 34, averaged a career-high 21.6 points along with 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists over 59 games last season, his first with the Pistons.
Morris, 28, played in 62 games with the Washington Wizards in 2022-23 and averaged 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
Livers, a 25-year-old forward, appeared in 52 games and averaged 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds.
The Pistons finished last season with an NBA-worst 17-65 record.
