Amidst this gripping action, the championship witnessed standout performances by India and Romania over the first two days, securing bronze medals in the U19 girls category. Similarly, Korea Republic and Romania clinched bronze in the U19 boys, while France and Korea Republic showcased remarkable skill, earning bronze in the U15 girls. Japan and Korea Republic displayed tenacity and skill, claiming bronze in the U15 boys category.
Throughout these enthralling encounters, ITTF President Petra Sörling was immersed in the fervour, witnessing the fervent dedication and emotional investment exhibited by these talented athletes. President Sörling expressed, The dedication and passion shown by these incredible young athletes at this ITTF World Youth Championships is truly remarkable. The hard work put in by the Slovenia Table Tennis Association in organising this event has been exceptional. Witnessing their commitment, mixed with all the emotions we have seen on the courts, really shows how impactful this event is. Amidst the competition, President Sörling was also present during an Anti-Doping presentation earlier in the day, together with Slovenia Table Tennis Association President, Tomaž Kralj. Collaborating with ITA (International Testing Agency) Education Ambassador Jernej Damjan OLY, she observed the informative and fun session aimed at over 40 young players, emphasising the importance of clean sport, and fostering awareness about anti-doping measures.
The electrifying finale of the Teams events at the ITTF World Youth Championships in Nova Gorica, also marked the onset of captivating action in the Mixed Doubles events on Day 3. As Day 4 dawns, anticipation mounts for the Boys Doubles and Girls Doubles events, promising another day filled with intense competition and spectacular rallies.
