TRACK & FIELD

NORTHERN SENIOR, U20 & U17 INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, Sheffield, January 13-14

Lee Thompson won the mens 400m in 47.13 and the 200m in 21.20 while Hannah Kelly won the womens title in an indoor PB of 53.14.

Olympian Thompson, who won an European indoor 4x400m bronze in 2021, ran 0.01 faster at 400m than he did in winning in British Indoor Championships bronze in 2023 and three hundredths of a second than he ran in the same race last year.

His 200m time was slightly down on 2023 (where he set his PB of 21.13) but surprisingly quicker than he has ever run outdoors.
