Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is nearing a comeback after returning to training following four months out with a calf injury.

The England star was pictured in training with the squad at Carrington on Tuesday, having not played for United since the 1-0 win over Luton Town on Nov. 11.

Mount is unlikely to be ready to make his comeback against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinal at Old Trafford on Sunday. However, there is hope that he might be fit to return for the trip to Brentford on March 30 after the international break.

Mount has endured a frustrating first season at United following his 55 million move ($69.4m) from Chelsea last summer.

Injury has restricted the 25-year-old to just 12 appearances in all competitions, making seven starts and appearing another five times off the bench.

Mount's return is a boost for manager Erik ten Hag, who is still without a number of senior players including Lisandro Martínez, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial.

His last Premier League start came in the 2-1 home win over Brentford on Oct. 7.

Meanwhile, United have announced a profit of 20.4m in their half year financial results, which were issued on Tuesday.

The club also announced record second quarter revenues of 225.8m while account also show United spent 9.6m on lawyers, accountants and other fees relating to strategic review and eventual minority stake sale to British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

United said that was on top of a 24.9m fee to U.S. investment bank Raine Group, which oversaw the deal.

United chief financial officer Cliff Baty said: "We delivered strong revenues during the first half of the fiscal year and have reiterated our guidance for record revenues for the full fiscal year.

"This is an exciting time at Manchester United following the completion of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's investment, and we are all focused on working together with our new co-owners to drive the club forward and deliver success on the pitch."
