Source: Hawks' Young nearing return from injury
Written by I Dig SportsAtlanta Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young is nearing a return and could play as soon as Wednesday night against the Charlotte Hornets, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Young had been sidelined since surgery to repair a torn ligament in a finger on Feb. 27. He resumed practicing this week.
The Hawks (36-43) hold the final Eastern Conference play-in spot.
Young, who made his third All-Star team this year, leads Atlanta with his averages of 26.4 points and 10.8 assists per game.
Dejounte Murray has handled primary ball-handling duties in Young's absence and is second on the team with his averages of 22.5 points and 6.5 assists.
