The latest ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking released on 7 May 2024 has allocated* the last coveted spots for the Mixed Doubles event at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown this summer.

Seven pairs have clinched their tickets to Paris, including World No.1 and current World Champions Sun Yingsha-Wang Chuqin. The Chinese duo, who took gold at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, will try to repeat the performance in Paris this summer.

They will face stiff competition as they are joined by Korea Republics Lim Jonghoon-Shin Yubin and Japans Hina Hayata-Tomokazu Harimoto, respectively World No.2 and No.3.

The other pairs who secured their spots with todays ranking are Chinese Taipeis Chen Szu-Yu-Lin Yun-Ju; Romanias Ovidiu Ionescu-Bernadette Szocs; and Hungarys Dora Madarasz-Nandor Ecseki. France, as the host country, took the last quota and will be represented by Alexis Lebrun and Yuan Jia Nan in front of home crowd.

The rest of the competitors are continental champions as well as winners from the World Mixed Doubles Qualification held in Havirov, Czech Republic last April.

The Mixed Doubles event will crown the first table tennis Olympic Champions of Paris 2024, with the final set to be played on Wednesday 30 July in South Paris Arena #4. Players will be seeded using the ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings published on 16 July 2024.

If the National Olympic Committee has qualified a team, all players from the Mixed Doubles event will be included in the team composition of their respective genders.
