Anunoby out for G4; G5 hopes dim, sources say
Written by I Dig SportsThe New York Knicks ruled OG Anunoby out for Sunday's Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers with a left hamstring strain that also kept him out of Game 3.
Anunoby is with the team in Indianapolis and has received treatment on the hamstring two to three times a day, but sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that there has not been enough progress yet to think he will make his return for Game 5 on Tuesday.
Anunoby suffered the injury late in the third quarter of the Knicks' Game 2 victory over the Indiana Pacers, when he was planting his leg in an effort to convert a transition layup.
Meanwhile, Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton -- dealing with injuries to his ankle and back -- is listed as questionable once again.
Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who had been dealing with a foot injury, was not listed on the injury report.
Anunoby has been an enormous difference-maker for the Knicks since being traded to the club from Toronto in late December and had a playoff career-high 28 points at the time of his injury.
The Knicks lead the first-round series over the Pacers 2-1.
