Three-time major winner Jordan Spieth underwent surgery to repair a left wrist injury this past week, he announced on X on Saturday.

Spieth, 31, won't compete again this season. He last appeared in the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, where he tied for 68th at 9 over.

"I had a procedure on my left wrist last week, as I had mentioned was the plan," Spieth said. "The operation went smoothly and I'm grateful for the exceptional medical team and support of [my wife] Annie and my family."

Spieth said he is "focused on rest and rehab" and looked forward to returning to full health for the 2025 season, which begins in Hawai'i in January. Spieth had said in Memphis that recovery from the surgery takes about three months.

Spieth has struggled with the wrist ailment for much of the past two seasons. The injury involves the sheath that holds the tendon in place. He first hurt it before the 2023 PGA Championship and has tried to play through it with rehab and various treatments.

"I've got to have it operated on ASAP, and then I'll go through the process of what I'm supposed to do from there," Spieth said in Memphis.

Spieth struggled while playing with the injury in 2023. He had only three top-10s in 22 starts and missed seven cuts. His last top-10 finish was a tie for 10th at the Valero Texas Open on April 7. He has dropped to 44th in the Official World Golf Ranking; he was No. 10 when he was initially injured.

"I think there's some clarity in getting it done," Spieth said in Memphis. "There's also some uncertainty, and so it's a little scary. But also, if I can learn to find some patience -- which I'm not very good at doing -- then I think I could come back stronger."
