GB's Skupski beaten in doubles quarter-final
Written by I Dig SportsBritain's Neal Skupski and New Zealand partner Michael Venus are out of the US Open after a quarter-final loss to Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.
The eighth seeds were beaten 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 by fourth seeds Arevalo of El Salvador and Croatia's Pavic.
Skupski and Venus missed two set points in the first set at 6-5 and struggled for control thereafter.
Skupski was the last Briton remaining in either doubles draw, with Jack Draper set to play his singles quarter-final against Alex de Minaur on Wednesday.
