Steelers to start Fields at QB with Wilson hurt
Written by I Dig SportsJustin Fields is the choice to start at quarterback over Russell Wilson as the Pittsburgh Steelers kick off the season against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Wilson, who traveled to Atlanta with the team, aggravated his training camp calf injury during an early individual period of Thursday's practice, casting doubt on his availability. However, Wilson experessed optimism Friday but remained noncommittal about his status.
Fields, who started the preseason opener, took first-team reps in team periods Friday, but he had also rotated in with the starters earlier in the week.
