Written by I Dig Sports
Following productive play in the preseason, guard Yuki Kawamura is set to sign a two-way NBA contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Born in Japan, Kawamura, 23, averaged 3.4 points with 4.2 assists in 15.1 minutes per game over five preseason contests and made 4 of 16 attempts from 3-point range.
A member of Japan's national team who participated in the Paris Olympics, Kawamura played the past four seasons with the Yokahama B-Corsairs in Japan. He was named B.League MVP in 2023.
At 5-foot-8, Kawamura will be the shortest player in the NBA and just the ninth player 5-foot-8 or shorter since the ABA-NBA merger in 1976, according to ESPN Research.
