Sources: Warriors benching forward Kuminga
Written by I Dig SportsThe Golden State Warriors are moving forward Jonathan Kuminga to the bench for Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN.
The benching of Kuminga is an intriguing development in a fourth season when no contract extension was complete for both sides, and team officials have discussed setting him up to take the next step.
The Warriors are expected to start Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, Draymond Green and Trayce Jackson-Davis, sources said.
Golden State is without Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and De'Anthony Melton on Tuesday night.
