KWINANA BEACH, Australia A borrowed ride paid dividends for Kyle Larson on Monday night as he won the highest-paying sprint car race in Australian racing history at Perth Motorplex.

The 35-lap feature was the culmination of three nights of racing at the legendary race track. It was Larsons first victory on Australian soil with winning the $100,000 finale.

While James McFadden, who won both preliminary features, started the Team Brady No. 23x on the pole, Larson began the race sixth in Jason Prydes No. 1k machine. Pride stepped out of the seat of the car in favor of Larson for this event.

McFadden led from the green flag, while Larson steadily worked his way forward.

Larson used lapped traffic to his advantage and rolled to the lead on lap 27 of the 35-lap event. He held off McFadden the rest of the way for the victory. McFadden earned $25,000 for the runner-up effort.

Callum Williamson finished third, with Brad Sweet and Dayne Kingshott completing the top five.

Americans Brock Zearfoss and Cole Macedo finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

The finish:

Kyle Larson, James McFadden, Callum Williamson, Brad Sweet, Dayne Kingshott, Brock Zearfoss, Jock Goodyer, Cole Macedo, Matt Egel, Ryan Newton, Kerry Madsen, Luke Oldfield, Andrew Priolo, Kris Coyle, Taylor Milling, Giovanni Scelzi, Matt Juhl, Jack Williamson, Justin Whittall, Jason Kendrick, Aaron Chircop, James Inglis, Kaiden Manders, Ryan Lancaster, Daniel Harding, Brad Maiolo.
