Outstanding from Benedikt Duda, it was the same from Aliaksandr Khanin; standing at no.146, he accounted for Denmark’s Anders Lind (12-10, 11-9, 6-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-5) and Romania’s Ovidiu Ionescu (11-4, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9, 7-11, 4-11, 11-7). Surprise qualifiers and there were more; Slovenia’s Darko Jorgic, Germany’s Ruwen Filus, alongside Japan’s Maharu Yoshimura and Korea Republic’s An Jaehyun all reserved places in the main event contrary to status.

Impressive from young aspiring players, it was the same from Monaco’s 31 year old Yang Xiaoxin. Following success against Romania’s Elizabeta Samara, the 2015 European champion (11-6 11-5, 9-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5), she accounted for Slovakia’s Barbora Balazova (11-5, 11-4, 11-5, 9-11, 11-9) to reserve her main draw place.
