LOS ANGELES -- LA Clippers star Paul George was ruled out of Thursday night's 126-112 victory over the Detroit Pistons with tightness in his left hamstring.
George went back to the locker room with 3:45 remaining in the second quarter. At the end of the half, the team said the guard was questionable to return.
The Clippers started the second half with Rodney McGruder in place of George. The team eventually ruled George out after pushing its lead well past 20 points in the third.
"Nothing happened, he just felt tightness," coach Doc Rivers said after the game. "He said it at halftime and then we just decided not to bring him back. So he's going to be evaluated clearly, I think it's the back more than the legs but I'm not sure."
George left the game with 12 points in 16 minutes.
The Clippers next play on Saturday in the first of a home back-to-back set against Memphis and New York.
