ACACIA RIDGE, Australia – Donny Schatz stormed to his fifth victory in a row at Ausdeck Archerfield Speedway during Friday’s Titan Garages Australian Sprint Car Open.
The event, sanctioned by the QSS World Series, saw Schatz run among the top three for the entire race and make the winning pass of polesitter Lachlan McHugh on lap nine.
Once out front, Schatz was unstoppable, taking the checkered flag 3.533 seconds clear of runner-up Kerry Madsen. McHugh hung on to complete the podium.
World Series point leader James McFadden was fourth and Jock Goodyer crossed fifth.
Andrew Scheuerle, Luke Oldfield, Jack Lee, American Kalib Henry and Shaun Dobson made up the balance of the top 10.
