SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Veteran sprint car crew chief Philip Dietz and his wife, Brooke, have decided to form their own 410 sprint car team.
Dietz will continue to serve as crew chief on the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series while also managing his own sprint car program, which will run a limited schedule.
Dietz has scored a pair of Knoxville Nationals victories as a crew chief and also earned four Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series titles while serving as crew chief for the late Jason Johnson.
The team has hired Parker Price-Miller to wheel the No. 14 sprint car in roughly 35 to 40 events, including the Jackson Nationals at the Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex, the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway.
The first race for the team will be the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., on Feb. 5.
Hobie Conway will work for the team as a tire specialist. The team is currently searching for a car chief. The team plans to utilize Maxim Racing Chassis’ and Kistler Racing Engines.
