Notably earlier in the week, once again in partnership with Alina Zavarykina, she had reached the junior girls’ doubles semi-finals, as well as advancing to the quarter-final round of the junior girls’ singles competition.

In addition, the previous day, in harness with Anasatasiia Beresneva, the duo had been the cadet girls’ team runners up, a final contest in which they had experienced a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chinese Taipei, Vlada Voronina losing by the very narrowest of margins to Chen Tsai-Ni (11-9, 11-4, 7-11, 6-11, 15-13).

One day later, Vlada Voronina turned the tables, at the semi-final stage of the cadet girls’ singles event she accounted for Chen Tsai-Ni in four games (8-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-9), prior to securing the title at the final expense of the Czech Republic’s Helena Sommerova (11-9, 4-11, 11-6, 11-8).

Significantly, Helena Sommerova had reserved her place in the final courtesy of success against Alina Zavarykina (11-6, 13-11, 14-12).

Medals apart for Vlada Voronina and Alina Zavarykina; in the penultimate series of matches, it was success together; the duo overcame Germany’s Naomi Pranjkovic and Jele Stortz (11-9, 11-7, 11-6) to claim cadet girls’ doubles gold.

Meanwhile, there were also further titles for France; Alexis Kourachi emerged the cadet boys’ singles champion. After recording a semi-final success against colleague Felix Lebrun (3-11, 12-10, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6), he accounted for a further compatriot in the guise of Hugo Deschamps (11-7, 11-9, 11-7) to reserve the top step of the podium. In the counterpart semi-final, Hugo Deschamps had ousted Russia’s Denis Izumrudov (10-12, 12-10, 11-4, 9-11, 11-8).

Notably the previous day Alexis Kourachi in partnership with Milhane Jellouli had been a cadet boys’ team bronze medallist, an event won by Hugo Deschamps and Felix Lebrun.

On the concluding day of play, the pair enjoyed more success; they beat the combination formed by Hungary’s Erik Huzsvar and Felix Kohler to secure the cadet boys’ team title in what proved the closest final of the day. They succeeded by the very narrowest of margins in the fifth game (11-6, 8-11, 11-8, 5-11, 12-10).

Play concluded in Platja d’Aro, the next destination is Bangkok, the 2019 SET Thailand Junior and Cadet Open, a golden series tournament, commences on Wednesday 15th May.
