Swiss outsider Allinckx marches into last four

Home hopes are still alive in the Finnish Women’s Open thanks to No.4 seed Emilia Soini.
The 24-year-old from Espoo reached the semi-finals by beating No.8 seed Alice Green from England in an exciting five game battle, squeezing home 11-9 in the fifth.
Switzerland’s Ambre Allinckx continued to upset the seeds by beating third seed Enora Villard from France. It was the longest match of the night, lasting just short of an hour as Allinckx triumphed 7-11, 11-9, 1-11, 11-8, 11-4.
Top seeds Milou van der Heijden (Ned) and Lucy Turmel (Eng) reached the semi-finals in four games, beating Tessa ter Sluis and Catalina Pelaez.
