Wales back-row Ross Moriarty will remain with Dragons after agreeing a new long-term contract with the region.

Moriarty is in his second season at Rodney Parade having joined from Gloucester in 2018 and has played 17 games for Dragons.

Dragons director of rugby Dean Ryan is "delighted" Moriarty will remain.

"His decision to renew his contract shows that he is committed to and believes in what we are doing here," Ryan said.

"More importantly, he also feels we can help him achieve his ambitions over the next couple of seasons."

The 25-year-old has played 45 times for Wales since making his international debut against Ireland in August 2015.

He was also picked for the 2017 British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand before leaving early because of injury.

Moriarty's re-signing is a boost for Dragons after they lost Wales second-row Cory Hill to Cardiff Blues for next season.

"I've enjoyed the last season with Dragons and everyone can see we are moving in the right direction," said Moriarty.

"We had some good results this season and I feel we will push on when we start playing again.

"I can't wait to get back to playing at Rodney Parade, the atmosphere we had for the derby games this season was really special."

Ollie Griffiths, Rhodri Williams, Jordan Williams, Josh Lewis and Rio Dyer have also agreed new contracts for next season and beyond.

Academy products Taine Basham, Max Williams, Connor Edwards, Lennon Greggains, Josh Reynolds and Dan Babos also agreed new terms earlier this season.
