Landon Huffman Launches Total Advantage Motorsport

CLAREMONT, N.C. – Part-time NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series driver Landon Huffman has added a racing arm to his eSports organization, branded as Total Advantage Motorsport.

Under the Total Advantage banner, Huffman plans to field entries in the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, the eNASCAR iRacing Road to Pro and the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Series, with eyes on bringing the team up the ladder to the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series.

The 24-year-old North Carolina native was one of the early competitors in what is now the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series, making the series in 2013 and earning a career-best third place finish at the virtual Daytona Int’l Speedway among nine starts that year.

After a hiatus for the second half of the decade, Huffman saw the potential to make an eNASCAR comeback with the launch of his own eSports organization and set out to make it happen following the company’s founding over the winter.

“Man, this is a direction I’ve been wanting to take my company for a while now,” Huffman told SPEED SPORT. “With the surge in attention surrounding sim-racing, it felt like the perfect time to kick-start our team. I’m excited to be heavily involved in iRacing like I was during my teen years and to see how far the service has come since then. I really believe it could be the next big thing in eSports and I’m excited to be a part of it.

“When I started Total Advantage, it was just one of my ideas that I wanted to try, but I realized how much I’ve learned about the business side of NASCAR over the last five years and that I’ve dealt with some larger sponsorship deals to where I believed I could drum up some similar things in eSports,” he added. “I just built this idea and started pitching it to investors, and it’s grown into a pretty great thing since then. It’s crazy.

“I always wanted to get back into iRacing, and this will be a great way to do just that.”

Huffman has partnered with well-known iRacing brand Deadzone Racing in his expansion venture, working with Deadzone’s drivers to generate a quick return to the top levels.

The Deadzone crew already within the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series includes Denny Hamlin Racing’s Casey Kirwan, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Graham Bowlin and Malik Ray, Team Dillon eSports’ Blake Reynolds and Michael Guest, Roush Fenway Racing’s Kollin Keister and Nathan Lyon, Jim Beaver eSports’ Michael Guariglia and Renegades eSports’ Caine Cook.

A total of 10 drivers will compete for Total Advantage during the remainder of the eNASCAR iRacing Road to Pro, all vying for a locked-in spot in the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Series by finishing in the top 20 in Road to Pro points.

Among Huffman’s lineup currently competing on the Road to Pro are former Coca-Cola Series driver Allen Boes, as well as Femi Olat, Steven Wilson, Michael Gonzalez, Shawn Butler, Blake Bryant, Justin Knoblock, Sam Adams, Collin Bowden and Jonathan Shipman.

He’ll also compete himself where possible in the Pro Invitational, as well as in the Road to Pro, in an effort to return to the series where he found limited success nearly a decade ago.

“It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago, honestly, but I still feel like I can do it,” Huffman noted. “We’ve got the support of a lot of great guys and the lineup we have is one that I feel can be successful if the breaks fall the right way for us. I’m gonna keep grinding at it and I feel like knowing the nature of iRacing will help with being able to make a run in the middle of the season and potentially winning a couple of races.

“We’ll see what all shakes out, but I’m really looking forward to this venture and seeing what we’re capable of accomplishing. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
