It’s All Peters In Greenville Pickens Action

EASLEY, S.C. – NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series veteran Timothy Peters was the winner of Saturday’s 100-lap late model stock car feature at Greenville Pickens Speedway.

Ty Gibbs started second in the R&S Race Cars house car and led the early portion of the race after taking the lead on lap six. He later gave up the top spot to polesitter and Truck Series regular Todd Gilliland, who was driver a late model fielded by DGR Crosley,

Gibbs later fell out of the race after an incident that brought out the caution flag on the 65th circuit.

With Gibbs falling out, Peters was now in second behind Gilliland. During the restart Peters pounced, taking the lead away from Gilliland. A lap 75 caution period slowed the field and set up a final 25-lap dash to the checkered flag.

Peters would control the restart and pull away initially, but Gilliland chased him down in the final laps and challenged him for the lead. The pair made contact and Peters held the lead while Gilliland fell into a battle for second with his teammate Taylor Gray.

That allowed Peters to escape and take the checkered flag while Gray got around Gilliland late to finish second. Will Burns was fourth in the 10-car field, followed by Neil Meredith in fifth.

In other action, Zane Anders topped the 20-lap renegade feature and Robin Darnell was the winner of the super stock main event.
