New Partners & Patriotic Scheme For Josh Williams

DARLINGTON, S.C. – As the NASCAR industry opens for business again, so too do Josh Williams and the No. 92 DGM Racing Chevrolet team, who will carry a special patriotic scheme in two upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series events.

Williams will pilot the Open for Business Again/Chasing Freedom Camaro in both Tuesday night’s Toyota 200 at Darlington Raceway and the Alsco 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 25.

The new colors come thanks to new partnerships with Open for Business Again, a Texas-based national campaign and patriotic apparel line, and Chasing Freedom, a non-partisan Political Action Committee which supports political candidates that support the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Both companies will be displayed prominently on Williams’ Camaro over the upcoming stretch of Xfinity Series racing, which features two races in six days as NASCAR fires off again following a two-month hiatus due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s always exciting to welcome a new partner to our program, but to have the opportunity to represent such an extraordinary group of people and brands, while also honoring our active military members, veterans and their respective families is something that’s very special to our team,” said Williams. “As NASCAR returns, hopefully we will help lift the spirits of people all over the country and provide some hope of heading back toward a post-pandemic lifestyle.

“This Open for Business Again/Chasing Freedom race car is exactly what we all need to see and believe in these times, and I am humbled and thankful for the opportunity to drive this race car for all who served, both past and present.”

Launched by Required Team Gear out of Fort Worth, Texas, Open for Business Again’s goal is to spread optimism, celebrate a cautious return to some normalcy, and help ensure that politicians receive one unified message that hard-working Americans are ready to get back to work.

Open for Business Again will serve as the primary sponsor of Williams’ No. 92 in both the Darlington and Charlotte events.

“The opportunity to be an active part of the return of NASCAR, especially during their Salute to Service campaign, was something we knew we had to be a part of,” said Open for Business Again creator Frank Kratch. “To support NASCAR’s reopening while honoring our service men and women was a natural fit for our group. Josh Williams embodies the traditional American spirit of hard work, dedication and always working to be the best he can be on and off the track, which made him the right fit for us.

“We look forward to joining DGM Racing and Josh and are proud to help them open for business again.”

The non-partisan Chasing Freedom PAC will be a major associate partner on Williams’ entry as part of the new partnership with DGM Racing and Williams.

“America and her allies need strong, courageous leaders in office who understand teamwork and American unity,” said Chasing Freedom co-founder Phil C. Hecker. “Chasing Freedom supports candidates who are veterans and who support veterans. Together we will Keep America Great!”

Williams is returning to action following the most-successful four-race stretch to open a season in his NASCAR career.

Before racing and other professional sports were halted in mid-March due to the coronavirus situation, Williams had earned a pair of top-15 finishes – including a season-best 10th-place run at Auto Club Speedway in Southern California – and sits two spots out of playoff contention entering Darlington.

The 26-year-old from Port Charlotte, Fla., is just eight points behind the provisional cut line after four regular-season races and is optimistic about him and his team’s chances to continue shining early.

“We’ve had a really solid start to the year, and we really want to continue what we built before everything shut down,” Williams noted. “More importantly though, we want to say thank you to all the essential workers, healthcare professionals and everyone that has put in their efforts to keep our country safe during this time and done their part to help us be able to go back racing this week.

“Our group is a strong team and I feel like we’ve shown what we’re capable of so far, so now we just have to keep doing that and being consistent over these next races that we have in front of us,” he added. “If we can do that, I think we’ll have a shot at being able to challenge for the playoffs and really opening some eyes here during this season.”

The Toyota 200 will get the green flag at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday night, with live coverage on FS1, the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
