Majeski Takes A Bite Out Of Rattler 250 Field

KINSTON, Ala. – Ty Majeski powered to his third victory in the annual running of the Rattler 250 for pavement super late models on Sunday afternoon at South Alabama Speedway.

Majeski, who perviously won the race in 2016-17, dominated the second half of the event. Bubba Pollard, who won Saturday’s Baby Rattler 125 pro late model event and started from the pole, controlled the early portion of the race by leading from the start through lap 68.

A caution on lap 60 for a spin by Kyle Plott allowed the field to close in on Pollard and shortly after the restart Majeski took the lead from Pollard.

Pollard and Majeski would trade the lead a few more times during the event, but Majeski would eventually gain the upper hand during each engagement. A caution flag on lap 187 set up a set of pit stops and a restart, with Majeski escaping from Pollard again during the restart.

Majeski never gave up the lead again as he rolled to his third victory in the annual event at the four-tenths-mile oval.

Giovanni Bromante, the defending Rattler 250 winner, slipped by Pollard in the final 20 laps to finish second. Pollard settled for third, followed by Stephen Nasse and Sammy Smith.

The Rattler 250 was originally scheduled for March, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Majeski will be back in action on Tuesday when the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series season resumes with the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Wisconsin native is driving for Niece Motorsports for the full Truck Series schedule.

The finish:

Ty Majeski, Giovanni Bromante, Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Sammy Smith, Jeremy Pate, Daniel Dye, Hudson Halder, Jeff Fultz, Jackson Boone, Dawson Fletcher, Hunter Robbins, Josh Brock, Jake Garcia, Nick Joanides, Connor Okrzesik, Logan Bearden, Steve Dorer, Kyle McCullem, Kyle Bryant, Jett Noland, Anthony Sergi, Corey Heim, Kyle Plott, Mason Keller.
