This week we continue to cover the intersection of sports and politics as we talk to retired NFL player Ben Watson about social injustices and how we can expect the league to support the Black Lives Matter movement when football returns in the fall.
Then we'll switch gears and talk baseball. What will it take for us to see pitchers take the mound in 2020?
But first, we focus on basketball. The NBA is known as one of the most socially conscious sports leagues in America. We've heard some of them express their support for the black lives matter movement on social media, and we've seen some of them take to the streets in protest. But what about when the season begins? How will teams and the league as a whole address what's happening in the U.S.? We talked about it with former NBPA executive director Charles Grantham.
