Located near the port, the harbour a favourite destination for cruise ships; a small local airport adjacent for those brave enough to fly in small propeller driven aircraft, the Convention Centre is a state-of-the-art facility, the overall dimensions sufficient for a World Championships.

A successful venture now over eight years ago, more recently in Guaynabo, some 20 minutes distant by car, in both 2018 and 2019 the Universal Pan American Cup was staged. Again the events proved a great success, acclaimed by all.

Organising Committee

The man at the helm on both occasions was Ivan Santos; the President of the Puerto Rico Table Tennis Federation, he assumes the role of Sports Director for the tournament. He is supported by Rick Newman, President of Flagship Resort Properties and Rodrigo Masses, President of Synergi Partners Puerto Rico and President of Organising Committee.

Meanwhile, Luis Vigoreaux is the event producer for the tournament, Daphne Barbeito the spokesperson for the Puerto Rico Tourism Alliance.

“ The aim is to hold a world-class event that will be part of ITTF events in the future whilst also encouraging more players in Puerto Rico to become interested in playing table tennis. In addition we hope to generate economic resources in order to have a fixed and stable administrative structure, whilst making Puerto Rico known as a tourist destination.” Ivan Santos

It is anticipated that some 600 players and supporters will attend.
