SPARTA, Ky. – Justin Allgaier was taken to a local hospital Thursday evening for further evaluation after being involved in a last-lap crash during the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Kentucky Speedway.
Allgaier, driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, was one of three drivers involved in a crash on the last lap of the Shady Rays 200. Coming down the backstretch Allgaier’s car got turned sideways, clipping the left-rear of Ronnie Bassett Jr.’s car.
The resulting incident sent Basset’s car violently into the inside wall, which briefly resulted in Bassett’s car leaving the ground. Timmy Hill was also collected in the crash. Bassett and Hill were both checkered and released from the infield care center following the incident.
