Hagler Sidelined For Sebring Pilot Challenge Go

SEBRING, Fla. – IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge driver Taylor Hagler will miss the upcoming Advent Health 120 at Sebring Int’l Raceway after testing positive for COVID-19.

Hagler made her IMSA debut at Daytona Int’l Speedway in January, where she was quick to get up to speed in the TCR class. She and Ryan Eversley co-drove to a 12th-place finish.

Despite a nearly six month break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hagler has focused on staying sharp and fit ahead of the IMSA restart. On top of utilizing her simulator to train, Hagler participated in the inaugural HPD GT3 Driver Academy last month.

The intensive two-day test at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta saw Hagler make her GT3 debut onboard the Acura NSX GT3 Evo.

Fellow HPD GT3 Driver Academy participant Dakota Dickerson will fill in for Hagler in the No. 77 L.A. Honda World Honda Civic Type R TCR, alongside Eversley, for the two-day Sebring event.

Although Hagler will be sidelined this weekend, she is focusing on getting back on track soon and is working with IMSA on being reinstated for the rest of the upcoming season.

“I’m sad to be missing the IMSA round at Sebring this weekend, especially after such a long break without racing,” said Hagler. “I’m focusing on recovering as quickly as possible. I am glad to hear that my fellow HPD GT3 Driver Academy teammate, Dakota (Dickerson) will be filling in for me. I wish the best of luck to Ryan (Eversley) and Dakota and will be cheering them on from home.”

“Most importantly Taylor has already started feeling better and that’s a major relief,” added Eversley. “I’m really disappointed we won’t be racing together this weekend and I’m already looking forward to us driving together again at Road America. Dakota and I just worked together on the HPD GT3 Driver Academy and I feel confident that he will do a great job in his TCR debut in our Honda Civic Type-R this weekend.”
