KIRKWOOD, N.Y. – Stewart Friesen wired the field during Monday’s 51-lap Mike Colsten Memorial event at Five Mile Point Speedway.
Friesen was really in his own league Monday evening. At one point he built a more than two second advantage over the battle for second, which was eventually erased when the caution flag waved on the 27th circuit.
No one could match Friesen’s pace during the restart and his advantage ballooned to three seconds by the time he caught traffic. Even with traffic, Friesen maintained a comfortable advantage until a final caution waved with two laps left.
Not even the two-lap dash to the checkered could stop Friesen, who cruised to the victory over Danny Creeden. Justin Holland, Shaun Walker and Brian Malcom completed the top-five.
