CORNWALL, Ontario – Steve Poirier wired the field to capture Saturday’s 360 sprint car main event that headlined the night of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
Poirier and Holly Porter were in the front row as Poirier took the lead over Porter and Glenn Styres. Shoan Evans brought the caution out on lap three, setting up a restart. Poirier jumped back into the lead as the top-three remained unchanged.
Following an accident on lap eight that collected four cars and resulted in a red flag, racing resumed with Poirier still at the point. Poirier led the entire distance, outrunning Styres and Porter to the checkered flag.
Bruno Richard was the winner in the 30-lap pro stock main, while Eric Sundborg topped the 25-lap lightning sprints feature.
