World Athletics Continental Tour Gold action continues in Hungary on Wednesday, while Poland welcomes athletes for the Irena Szewinska Memorial in Bydgoszcz

World Athletics Continental Tour competition takes place in Hungary and Poland on Wednesday (August 19), with the Gyulai István Memorial ‘Gold’ level meeting in Székesfehérvár and the Irena Szewinska Memorial ‘Bronze’ event in Bydgoszcz.

In Hungary, the USA’s world 800m champion Donavan Brazier (pictured) could well break the world 600m best, with Johnny Gray’s mark standing at 1:12.81 set in 1986.

Brazier’s PB is the world indoor best of 1:13.77 he set last year.

World 200m champion Noah Lyles goes in the 100m after clocking 19.76 for 200m in Monaco and he’s joined in the shorter event by Britain’s Adam Gemili, who is also entered for the half-lap race.

The women’s 200m includes two-time world champion Dafne Schippers of Netherlands, Switzerland’s world bronze medallist Mujinga Kambundji and multiple world medallist Marie-Josée Ta Lou of Ivory Coast.

The men’s triple jump field features the USA’s multiple Olympic and world triple jump champion Christian Taylor, world bronze medallist Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso and Portugal’s two-time world medallist Pedro Pablo Pichardo.

In the women’s long jump, Shara Proctor goes up against her fellow Briton Abigail Irozuru.

Britain’s Andrew Pozzi, who equalled his 110m hurdles PB with 13.14 in Monaco, again goes up against the winner of that race, Spain’s Orlando Ortega, plus the USA’s world champion Grant Holloway and France’s William Belocian. The second heat includes Britain’s David King among the entries.

The men’s 400m hurdles sees Britain’s 2011 world champion Dai Greene race for the first time this summer, while his compatriots Jessie Knight, a fellow hurdler, and Laviai Nielsen race the 400m flat.

The 100m hurdles features Netherlands’ world leader Nadine Visser and Sharika Nelvis of the USA.

World discus leader Daniel Stahl recently threw 71.37m for his second best ever throw and is back in action in Székesfehérvár where his opponents include Britain’s Lawrence Okoye, while four-time world champion Pawel Fajdek goes in the hammer.

Poland’s world indoor champion Adam Kszczot goes in the men’s 800m alongside Britain’s Kyle Langford, Elliot Giles and Guy Learmonth.

The men’s pole vault features the USA’s world champion Sam Kendricks plus Poland’s European indoor champion Pawel Wojciechowski and world bronze medallist Piotr Lisek.

Marcin Lewandowski targets the Polish 2000m record of 5:01.7, with Britain’s Piers Copeland and Sol Sweeney also entered for that event.

The action is set to be shown on TVP Sport from 17:35 local time (16:35 UK).
