BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Kraig Kinser and the No. 11k team will not compete with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series this weekend in North Dakota, after members of the crew tested positive for COVID-19.

The team confirmed the news in a statement posted to social media on Thursday evening.

“Members of the Kinser Racing team have tested positive to COVID-19. Therefore, the team will be sitting out this weekend,” Kinser wrote. “If you have been in contact with any of our team and are showing symptoms, please get tested and monitor your health. We hope everyone is OK.”

Following the three-day The One and Only weekend at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway, Aug. 13-15, Kinser ranked 10th in World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series points, with one top-five and five top-10 finishes in 27 feature starts.

Kinser’s team is the third within the sprint car industry to be sidelined due to positive COVID-19 tests within the last two days.

Daryn Pittman confirmed that he and members of the Roth Motorsports team tested positive on Wednesday evening, while All Star Circuit of Champions regular Paul McMahan and his wife, Jan, also tested positive. McMahan revealed that news Thursday afternoon.

In addition, World of Outlaws pit reporter Michaela Dumesny confirmed a positive test result on social media, and Knoxville Raceway also confirmed in a statement Thursday that a track employee tested positive as well following The One and Only.
