STUART, Iowa – The point season at Stuart Int’l Speedway’s racy quarter-mile run by Mike Van Genderen concluded its point season Monday with a special event.
RaceXR provided free streaming and many track supporters added to the payout while businesses had the opportunity to submit promotional video to show to the large streaming audience.
Five IMCA sanctioned divisions, plus mini-mods, were on hand for the program.
Mini-mods started the main event series with Kamdyn Haggard leading two laps before Nathan Kilwine used the bottom of turn two to take the lead. Kilwine held off Justin Beach for the win and Matt Prehn took the track title by one point.
The sport compacts feature saw Hunter Patrick lead all the way despite Mitchell Bunch getting a nose under him a couple times. Bryan Vannausdle was named track champion.
Hobby stock racing was all Brandon Cox after he won both the main and track championship. Tom Killen Jr led five laps before Zach Hemmingsen used a bump-and-run to pass to take the lead, but he led only one lap after the aggressive pass. Killen came right back to regain the lead before Cox drove into the lead on lap eight and went on to the win.
Brayton Carter was in control of the sport mods, leading all the way after a lap-two pass. To add to his successful run, Carter also won the track championship.
Bob Daniel led the first dozen laps of the stock car main, pounding the topside of the multi-groove track. Ninth starting Damon Murty joined Daniel on the top and used a turn two slider to take during the last 10 laps for the win. Jeremy Gettler was named track champion.
Modifieds concluded the evening with an excellent battle between Cody Laney and Tim Ward, with 15 laps of side-by-side racing.
Ward couldn’t quite complete the pass and Laney took the win and Tom Berry Jr. was named the champion.
